Interstate Youth Initiative was founded by a collective that saw a need for increased access to inclusive items by unhoused populations. This collective is connected by the East Coast's Interstate - 95 and, despite their distances, observed the same needs in marganized, unhoused commuities.
A world where persons that are unhoused have equitable access to services and support based on their individual needs. This is done to reduce the harm caused by their status as an unhoused individual.
Interstate Youth Initiative’s mission is to provide hope, assistance, and access to reduce the harm caused by their status as an unhoused individual; emphasis is placed on uplifting and empowering the individual and providing services that affirm gender identity and are accessible to all persons, regardless of race, religion, orientation, etc.
Currently, we provide gender affirming, inclusive care packages to unhoused individuals. The items in each package help to ensure that the dignity of the individual is preserved by allowing access to necessary items. We hope to add more services as we learn and grow.
These items include, but are not limited to:
**This is within reason and is subject to access to the item deemed necessary.
